What personal data we collect and why we collect it

You can visit our website without us collecting personal data from you. Personal data is only collected if you provide it to us voluntarily for the execution of a contract, when registering a customer account or when contacting us. Without your express consent, this data is used solely for contract processing and processing your inquiries and orders. After completion of the contract, your data will be stored with due regard to tax and commercial law retention, but will be blocked for other uses, unless you have expressly consented to the further use of your data.

In addition, your e-mail address will be used, when you agreed to receive our email newsletter. We use your address only for our own advertising purposes in the form of an e-mail newsletter.

About your payments, we save the selected payment option and a transaction token. We do not store any information about your account and no information about your credit card (optional with the exception of the last 4 digits of the card number, see below).

Cookies are small pieces of data, stored in text files, that are stored by the web browser on your computer or other device when websites are loaded.

They are widely used to ‘remember’ you and your preferences, either for a single visit through a ’session cookie’ or for multiple repeat visits using a ‘persistent cookie’. They ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors, and perform essential functions such as allowing users to register and remain logged in.

Cookies may be set by the site that you are visiting, known as ‘first-party cookies’; or by third parties, such as those who serve content or provide other services on the website, known as ‘third-party cookies’.

If you visit our site, we will set first-party cookies, which are neccessary so that the website functions for its main purpose. These are session cookies to save your login information and connect your browser requests with your session on our webserver, to remember settings you made and data you entered during your session, to display your recently viewed products during your session, to manage your shopping cart and the checkout process. There is a cookie to remember your shopping cart beyond your current session, which persists for two days, hoping that you‘ll come back till then to complete your order. If you select “Remember me” on the login page, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. Your cookie consent settings are saved in a cookie, which will persist for one year, unless you change your settings beforehand.

For payments, we use PayPal and Braintree, a PayPal Service, as payment service providers, see below. When you open the checkout page, PayPal and Braintree will send cookies to you, being third-parties in this case. For more information please read the PayPal Cookie Statement.

Besides those necessary cookies, there are cookies, for which we have to ask you for your consent, when you visit the website for the first time. These cookies serve for the following features:
– A first-party cookie for remembering your chosen language, which persists for one year
– Third-party cookies from Google for presenting the Google Map and third-party cookies from Facebook and Twitter for the social plugins showing the Like and Share buttons on our pages. For more information about their policies you can read the Google Privacy Policy, the Facebook Privacy Policy and the Twitter Privacy Policy.
You can use these features, if you accept the associated cookies, when asked for your cookie consent. If you choose to accept only necessary cookies, you can still use our website. But the features mentioned above will not be available.

You can adjust your cookie consent setting for our website at any time here.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Only if you gave your consent for those cookies mentioned in the previous section about third-party cookies, the Google Map and the social plugins of Facebook and Twitter are used on our pages to make the website a more personal experience.

When you open a page of our site containing the Google Map or the Facebook Like, Share and Twitter Tweet buttons, a direct connection is created between your browser and the Google, Facebook or Twitter servers, and they are informed that you have visited our site from your IP address. If you are logged in on Google, Facebook or Twitter, they are able to match your visit to our site with your Google, Facebook or Twitter account respectively. When you interact with the social plugins, for instance by using the Like, Share or Tweet buttons, the relevant information is sent directly to a Facebook or Twitter server and stored there. This happens when you share and recommend our online shop on Facebook and Twitter, and we are happy if you do it.

You can read more in the Google Privacy Policy, the Facebook Privacy Policy and the Twitter Privacy Policy.

Our website uses Google Fonts. This means your browser will download font files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. According to Google this service is completely isolated from other Google services. No cookies will be set.
